History: Wakana's dad left her mother just as soon as he found out she was pregnant. He never came back and her mother never mentioned him again. So her mother brought her up on her own, between her working hours. Her mother was a bit of a hippy in her younger days, and Wakana's picked up on some of that. She was expelled from her old school for smoking weed in the middle of the music room. While she's been here, she's managed to cut out the drugs, although she still sometimes has daydreams and hallucinations. With her carefree, relaxed attitude, it makes people occasionally think she's high when she isn't.

Appearance: She's reasonably tall, about 5"6. She looks fairly plain, but she has a nice smile. She has very short hair, and when she's not wearing her uniform, she likes to wear brightly coloured and unique articles of clothing, which usually don't suit her at all.

Personality INCLUDING three strengths and weaknesses: She says weird things sometimes. At home, she's used to saying anything that pops into her head, be it a silly and inappropriate comment, or a complex theory. Because of the lack of father figure in her life, she's not used to being around so many guys and is usually found either on her own or with the nicer girls. Her favourite subject is Literature, because she likes to write sappy romance novels in her free time. It's her anti-drug.

Strengths

Eccentric: Because she's a bit odd, no-one knows exactly what she's going to do at any given time. Since most of the time, she does know what they're going to do, she has an advantage.

Relaxed: She doesn't care about much. Which means that anyone that tries to bully her won't get a rise out of her easily.

Optimistic: She looks on the bright side of life. Which isn't really the best outlook for an NPC in a BR, but hey, she doesn't know that! *shot*

Weaknesses

Eccentric: Her peculiarities haven't made her many friends.

Pacifistic: She doesn't believe in violence. At all. And she'd rather die than kill someone.

Nervous around guys: She's not used to men being around her. So she's a little nervous. Not really scared, but she'd prefer to be around girls.

History:

Ryuji's family isn't what you would call completely normal. His parents were part of a failed rebellion against the Dictator, and suffered 'accidents', when Ryuji was two years old. Since then, he has been brought up by his older sister and her boyfriend, both of whom are loyal citizens. They're trying to bring Ryuji up right, Ryuji's trying to tell them to go to hell without getting kicked out. It's a fun relationship.

When Ryuji was eleven, he tried to find out everything about his parents. He failed, but found out a lot of other interesting -and also, somewhat incriminating- things about the government instead. So he started to buy history books, to compare the established and accepted view with the new, more 'real' ideas.

More recently, Ryuji has tended to get into a few more fights. Not because he's violent, or because he has anything to fight for, just to see what his sister did about it. One of those fights led him to be expelled from his old school and transferred here. However, because all three members of the family had better things to do with their time, it took six months. Since he had missed the exams necessary to go up to the next year, the new school decided to hold him back until he actually did them. They think that the move has straightened him up, but in truth, since he now knows how they'll react, fighting's lost its appeal.

Appearance:

He's quite short, and very aware of that fact. His hair is a work in progress, what can be bright blue and spiky one day, can be flat and black the next. He's trying to find out what style he likes best before committing himself. Most of the time, he has to borrow his soon-to-be brother-in-law's clothes, as the money that he earns goes towards food and history books. Also hair dye. He buys a lot of that.

Personality:

If Ryuji really desperately wants something, he will do anything to get it. That includes both illegal and immoral actions. However, unless you're directly in his way, he's nice enough to be around. He's often sarcastic, and while he doesn't mean his comments to be hurtful about 85% of the time, other people take them as such. He is often bitter towards students with nuclear families, especially if they complain about their parents. However, at this school, he isn't going to get into a fight about it.

He's moderately talkative, and somewhat friendly in class too. Although this may have more to do with what the person may do for him in the future than actual kindness, it can also be noted that the tactic, at least with certain people in the class, has worked well for him, as his grades have gone up.

Mostly because he doesn't like his sister and her boyfriend very much, he signed up for the debate club (yes, as of now, we have a debate club) and photography. Usually, between those and his part time job, he rarely has free time. Still, if it means spending as little time home as possible, it's a good thing.

Strengths:

Ruthless: Ryuji believes that everyone has to make their own future. He's quite happy if other people want to be in his future, as long as they have something useful to bring to the arrangement.

Practical: Ryuji's all about the bigger picture. If he fixes something today, what will the consequences be in the future? And can he -or other people that he doesn't mind the company of- take the risks involved?

Slightly warped sense of morality: He's not moral, in the way that many people would view the word. And he certainly isn't religious. But he isn't the type of person that would hurt someone or see someone else be hurt for no, or very little reason. Occasionally, if he's in a good mood, his morals even overrule his ruthlessness.

Weaknesses:

Sarcastic: He's trying to work on that, but sometimes he can really hurt people's feelings.

Mild distrust of authority: For as long as he can remember, the only authority figures he's had have been his sister and her often drunk boyfriend. And they piss him off. Besides, their authority figures -meaning the government- killed his parents. Yeah. Fun.

Inability at maths: He just can't see the point in graphs, or algebra and especially not calculus. Since he has no idea as to how they can help him when he grows up, he doesn't understand them at all. However, his grades have slowly inched up.

Overnight Bag: Headache tablets, camera -with film and fold-up tripod-, blow-up pillow, two history books, knife, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, razor and bottles of cherry red, lilac, acid green and hot pink hair dye (the lilac one is for a prank that he's intending to pull off on someone).

Siblings - Arisu Miyosaka (36). Only sibling and foster parent. Arisu is devoutly loyal to the Dictator, even to the extent of praising the idea of the Program. It is believed that her loyalty is a reaction to the deaths of her parents, and an attempt to not die in the same way.

Extra-Curricular Activities: Debate club, photography, job as a cleaner in a strip club (and no, it isn't a gay one and Seikou does not pole dance at it. *shot*).

Classroom Behaviour: Ryuji seems to be a bright student and can work hard, should the motivation be given. He seems to be most comfortable in History, and I am certain that he's read ahead of the class. He dislikes mathematics, although with help, he has managed to partially overcome his difficulties in this area. There are, however, two concerns. While Ryuji seems to be integrating reasonably well and is fairly tolerant towards the majority of the class, he has become more malicious towards one classmate in particular, and there have been a number of incidents in which he has been implicated as the perpetrator. The second concern is that Ryuji has been increasingly liable to skip lessons -particularly Mathematics- with other students.

Classroom Clique: Semi-loner, associates with the class-cutter clique (amongst others)

Any Memorable Moments: Kazuki put make-up on him once while they were out shopping. Unfortunately, Ryuji still had his camera on him from Photography...yeah, I think you can see where this is going. :D Tomoyo was also there as a witness.

Friends and Enemies:

Friendly with/Tolerates...

Yukio Inokuma: Ryuji's roommate, they co-operate well together due to their mutual sarcasm and attitudes. They had an argument over Ryuji's organisational skills once, but after several hours Ryuji gave in just to stop Yukio shouting at him.

Hideaki Yuasa: Ryuji probably should hate Hideaki's guts. But he doesn't. They respect each other's sarcasm and get along quite well.

Rei Matsumo: They tolerate each other because they share friends. That's about it.

Seikou Ishida: They get along, mostly. The last time they were paired up for a project, Seikou wanted it done perfectly, Ryuji just wanted it done and they had an argument about it, during which both said things that they didn't actually mean. They both apologised afterwards and occasionally skip school together.

Kazuki Hoshikawa: They skip class together often. Although Ryuji tends to run for the safety of the history section of the nearest bookstore when Kazu mentions shopping.

Tomoyo Gentoku: They're good friends, and often go out with Kazuki. Tomoyo was present the time that Kazu decided that Ryuji would look better with make-up on. They debate often, although for some reason Tomoyo sometimes starts laughing randomly around him.

Taylor Takahashi: They're in debate club together, and Ryuji thinks that the animosity between her and Kaoru is interesting. Since she is useful, in that her math skills are better than his, he's fairly happy to go along with her plan to get revenge on Kaoru. They've flirted as well, but he's not serious about it.

Raiden (Rai) Shindou: A Debate Club friend, Ryuji's moderately fond of Rai and often goes out to town with him and Seikou. If this was a novel, Ryuji gets the feeling that Rai would be the main hero character. Not that he sees anything wrong with that, of course.

Kaoru Ishibashi: They're in the debate club together, and Ryuji respects her ability to make witty comments. There's some sexual tension there, but he doesn't trust her for a minute. And he's not in her little group of bitches, mostly because he's okay with talking to -and making sarcastic comments towards- almost everyone. Well, except Hisa, but she pisses him off.

Ryuichi Nakano: They're in photography together -which is a small club- so they know each other quite well. Ryuji thinks that Ryuichi's superstition and religious attitude is somewhat entertaining, but can't be bothered to burst his bubble. Still, they agree on some major issues for different reasons and regularly skip class together to go and find photos.

Taichi Nawabe: They've skipped school together before and occasionally go to the theatre together. Ryuji's not actually a big fan of Shakespeare, but he takes it as being an insight into the history of literature. At least, that's his excuse, anyway. He just doesn't want to go to Maths.

Satoru Ishigaki: They're reasonably friendly, but not amazingly close. Ryuji thinks that Satoru's a little boring, and Satoru thinks Ryuji's a bit insensitive, but they're quiet about it.

Mami Hanasaki: Ryuji said something to her that hurt her feelings. After realising his mistake, he apologised and has tried to be more careful about his choice of words. Sometimes he does still say the wrong thing though.

Miyuki Ishida: They have reasonably similar interests, and Ryuji buys pain medication from her fairly regularly. He's not so happy about her xenophobia, but he can't be bothered saying anything about it. Occasionally, she helps him prank Hisa.

Kinuka Asano: They're reasonably friendly. Ryuji often thinks that Kinuka can be a bit of a bitch -and tells her so, on occasion.

Sayuri Ono: They're engaged to be married -and neither of them like it too much. Still, they're reasonably polite to each other, and she's okay with Ryuji having relationships with other people. There aren't many people in the class that know about their engagement, though, because neither of them intend to stick with it -and Ryuji fully intends to apply for a divorce as soon as their families (his sister and her dad) force them to tie the knot.

Raina Yoshizawa: She's in Photography with him. Whenever he tries to talk to her, she blushes and turns away. He's a bit confused at why she does that, since he can't remember hurting her feelings, but he's okay with it.

Itsuo Tateno: They basically know each other through Seikou. Ryuji thinks that Itsuo's a little too trusting, but they have similar interests. They don't associate that much though.

Lily Ogawa: Ryuji gets the feeling that she wants to figure him out. He'd rather she didn't, and keeps away from her. This is added to the fact that she hangs around with Hisa, who he really doesn't like.

Wakana Asakura: Another photography accomplice. He thinks she's a bit off her rocker, she thinks that he's going to have a nervous breakdown very soon. Apart from that, they get along, and he's invited her to skip lessons with him on occasion, but she's politely declined.

Dislikes...

Hisa Aimono: She asked him once why he read all the time. He threatened to cut out her vocal chords and then, as emphasis of the fact that he didn't like her voice, dyed her hair acid-green. I think it's safe to say that they don't get along.

Hanako Iso: They don't really see eye-to-eye. He's disinterested in her and she bitches about him whenever she has enough material.

Terada Ito: He doesn't like or trust her. For all he knows, it was someone like her that reported his parents.
